Gone Too Soon

Lost and gone, today too soon
tears sent forth under a mourning moon
as each soul now leaves its body
heart of loved ones, forsaken and empty

time to cross to the other side
to a better place where there’s no need to hide
from the evil of maleficent man
for you’ll be in the arms of an angel and saint

at this moment as we try to heal
and contemplate whether what happened is real
we can only grieve, then we pray
but one thing for sure – good memories will stay

I dedicate this to the victims and families of the youth camp shooting and bombing in Norway, and to Amy Winehouse (27). very sad day.
